Image Compression speeds up your website load time

Are you designing and maintaining your own website? Images can drag out your load time. It's a common mistake to drop in images taken with youir smart phone. These images generally are huge. Speed up your website by using a good image compression app.

At Chrome Dev Summit 2018 Squoosh image compression came to life. Believed to be one of the best and most effective image compression available has been improved over time. December 9th, 2020 the latest major update was released.

Squoosh is the method I use for image compression. If you are doing your own website with images, consider using Squoosh, it's easy and fast and you don't need to load anything to your computer. Compression varies but I find it is 50% plus on most images. This makes a huge difference in load time of your website.

New codecs support, updated design, and CLI support!
